Who is your targeted audience?

PowWeb targets small to mid-size businesses.

Where do you see your company two years from now?

In 2 years, PowWeb's Web hosting platform will remain the #1 choice for all internet users seeking an online presence. Through our "load balanced" Web hosting platform, it is possible to offer all our clients "Zero Downtime" Hosting (excluding natural disaster).

What significant changes have you seen in the web hosting marketplace over the last 12 months?

Over the last 12 months, I noticed the clear winners in the hosting marketplace are the consumers. This is because Web hosting companies have to increase service features to remain competitive. As with any industry, the more competition there is, the better it is for consumers.

How did you come to choose your company name?

We need a name that has excitement, easy to spell, easy to pronounce, and easy for customers to remember so we went with PowWeb!

What advice do you have for someone who is just starting a hosting company?

Starting a Web hosting company now is much different than it was 5 years ago. Although the market is saturated, I believe a person can still start and run a successful Web hosting company if he/she have a solid business model, care about your customers' needs and have a passion for success.

In the next five years, where do you see the web hosting industry taking us?

The Web hosting market as whole will continue to grow. However, technology wise, things will be a lot different than what it is today. In 5 years, the hardware used and software developed for Web hosting will change dramatically for the better.

How do you walk the fine line between growing to meet the anticipated needs of new customers and growing too quickly?

Although growth is important for any company, PowWeb main priority is to cater our existing customers. We listen to their needs and we work towards fulfilling them. Knowing what our existing customers' needs are is a good indication of what potential customers might need.

Connectivity & Data Center Specs

Describe your back-up and emergency power systems.

PowWeb does daily backups of all our customers' websites. Our servers are connected to dual redundant 30 amps power strip. The building also has UPS generator for backups just incase the building loses power.

What types of servers do you use for your primary virtual NT hosting and primary virtual Unix hosting clients?

All our servers are UNIX based (FreeBSD)
