When would you consider a post smap?

Most hosting forums have a place to post your ads for your site. Some has set rules on how often you can post. Some places don't.

But when is a post consider spam to you?

I know the rules set out by the forum admin or moderator doesn't know how much that is, they just want to regulate the spam and to have some control over the ad section.

If you posted once a month would you consider that spam or if you post more then once total at the same forum with the same exact thread?

Maybe some of you know more of how a search views these things also?

I would say a post is considered spam when the sole reason for posting involves advertising a specific web site. If helpful information is provided that is not related to the "spam", then that should be fine.
