Default help with PHPnuke!

I am using PHPnuke and suddenly all the news has disapperaed! what could cause this? is it a problem with my database or an overload on the server? How can I get it back?

Also, when in my ftp can I access the news to back it all up??

Is there an error message that appears saying an error? or is it just blank?

You can't backup PHP-Nuke by the files because it is database driven, you have to backup the MySQL database.

I haven't used phpNuke but if it's like Mambo/Joomla maybe you don't have it set to "publish"?

Have you checked this on their own support forums?
I would imagine you will have more chance of the problem getting solved if you ask there, just an idea.

I'm not too conversant with the Nuke system, but what do you mean by "news" are they posts, topics? In that case, use phpmyadmin or any mysql MS you do use to check your forum database.

If you could post either a more detailed analysis of the problem, or PM me the link to your website, I think, I might be able to help.

I have only seen this happen if:

1...Tables in database containing articles is emptied, or,
2...You accidentally deleted the category that the articles were in.

check the database, if you look under phpadmin, I would browse the stories table with in phpadmin. If you go to the admin section are the stories not there? You can also check modules to verify that News is active in home. After that I would go to one of the many phpnuke sites and look for help.
