How did you find your web designer?

I've been lucky enough to have friends locally that do web design for me at a very cheap price.

How did everyone find/meet their web designer? Any interesting stories?

My designer is a long time friend, and I wouldn't have it any other way. It provides work for my friend and he is very flexable and obviously easy to communicate my ideas to.

I've used so many over the years.. Haven't really stuck with one person or company. Most of them I found on scriptlance or through friends.

Once upon a time in college I wanted to have my own website to display my art. Since I'm the kinda guy who likes to do everything himself, I learned html and photoshop and created my first website on geocities.

Almost ten years later I've made web design my career and have my own design / hosting company. LOL! Not bad huh?
