Default reselling domains?

I don't get how reselling works... I went to enom and it was a bit confusing with their pricing and "points"... is it basically buy it for $4 and sell it for $12 as an example?

It's something like that. but the lowest price you'll ever see a domain name for is $6.95, which the register company will not ever make a profit on as they must pay that price for the domain (does anyone know who they pay). The domain name business is very saturated and I don't recommend that anyone enters it. I do know that some web hosting companies make a fortune by jacking domain registration prices up to their members.

Bottom line, stay away for the domain registration business and there are so many big players and small guys not getting by.

Usually those companies also offer web hosting as well and use low domain prices to attact clients...

1and1 is offering domain at 5.99 regardless whether you host with them or not. I wonder if there is a catch --for example do they charge some sort of domain renewal fee? Eventhough my civicavenue.com domain is being transfered to 1and1, i don't know how much they going to charge me as a renewal fee. they say 5.99 every year, but do you guys think they charge a renewal fee?
